Main Menu Directions FAQ About Us In the Press

Handmade

Our food does not come par-baked or pre-frozen. We make it here. We use our hands. It requires personal touch, time, effort, and tradition.

Quality

Quality food starts with quality ingredients. We use real butter, whole eggs, and fresh produce. Our coffee and tea is organic and fair trade. We don’t use preservatives, artificial ingredients, or inexpensive hydrogenated oils. Everything is made fresh daily and meant to be enjoyed within 2-3 days.

Rustic

Our food has personality. Each croissant, each scone, each cannele is slightly different from the next. That’s how we like it.

Alex Emmott and Evangeline McKilligan

Evangeline’s passion for food began in middle school when she started a business selling cookie platters. She’s been baking ever since. With over ten years of professional baking experience, and a degree from the Culinary Institute of America, Canto 6 is a dream come true for Evangeline.

Alex started cooking in her parents’ kitchen, but never imagined food as a career until she met Evangeline working at Clear Flour Bakery in 2002. She graduated with a degree in Psychology from McGill University, but hasn’t used it yet. Instead, she’s been busy selling cheese at Whole Foods, writing business plans, and developing a menu for Canto 6. When they’re not baking at Canto 6, Evangeline is baking at home (seriously), and Alex is playing with their cocker spaniel Hugo.
